Coombe Valley and Duckpool
A West Country Christmas, by T. F. Clarke
This article below has been provided by the Landmark Trust and it is the account of an early travel writer who fell in love with the hamlet of Coombe and asked a local family if he could could share Christmas with them. The family obliged and Clarke wrote this account of his stay and the welcome he received. It paints a wonderful picture of the local people and customs at the start of the last century.
We’ve reason to believe that this could be the group of musicians described in the letter above.
